    Preparation mode

Cook the meat in water until tender, put aside the meat and make a soup with broth.

Rip the meat into thin strands , cut onion into thin rings and pepper into strips, crush the garlic and saute in medium hot oil with onion, pepper and tomato sauce, add remaining ingredients and let cook covered over low heat about 15 minutes, stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

    History of the recipe

Do you know the similarity between food and clothes?

The story tells, a poor man waiting for his family for dinner, and not get money to buy the odd food to serve, out of his closet all her clothes, as old as great was his poverty, and began to cook with all the love he felt for his family. At the end of the stew clothing became a wonderful meat.

This legend gives name to the famous dish "Ropa Vieja" which was originally a dish made of leftovers, it was used to cook pork, chicken, beef that had been the previous day, adding to it evolving chickpeas and spices like oregano , thyme, bay leaf and perfumed with white wine.

A native of the Canary Islands, the portion of land, which drove the sailors who sailed to the New World, is not difficult to guess how to become part of the Latin tradition, for thousands of canaries were established in America looking for new horizons life, and contributed to the formation and development of the customs of these peoples

The plate is therefore in Latin cuisine, transformed to the new way of making the fledgling company, a plate of shredded beef cooked in tomato sauce.
There remains the initial question, what is the similarity? Simple... a work of infinite love.
